Hackney Wick's got a new hole in the wall pie shop, Donald's, all the way from Wales

Welsh pie and coffee spot Donald's Pies opens a hatch in Hackney Wick

Hot on the heels of Bara Café opening in Peckham comes another fully-fledged Welsh food business, hoping to entice Londoners through its doors. Anyone hailing from Cardiff will know about Donald's which is actually a Kiwi-inspired pie and coffee shop that started life as a street food business, selling pies from a cricket club in the Cardiff suburb of Radyr. Now friends Gareth Owens and Harri Rees have opened their first place outside Wales, in Hackney Wick.

Right now it's a weekend-only affair serving up pies like Mince Beef & Cheddar, Butter Chicken Curry, Ratatouille & Vegan Feta and BBQ Pulled Pork. But judging by the queues on opening weekend, it's already doing good business.
