Keller at Maltby, Hewett St Block Party and Scallop Sunday

scallop sundayBeen stuck at your desk all week and eager to hit London's foodie scene over the weekend? Well if you missed our tweets alerting you to the presence of uber-chef Thomas Keller of Californian restaurant The French Laundry who was filming with Angela Hartnett and Jose Pizarro this morning at Maltby Street Market, there are still plenty of other fun ways to stuff your self this weekend.

First up is today's Hewett Street Block Party which runs today in Shoreditch from 12-9pm. It ties in with the London Design Festival and creative agency Protein's 15th birthday and features a host of great design and art - not to mention some cracking food stalls. Out today will be Ritas Bar and Dining, Elliot's, BanhmiII, as well as great vans from Street Feast including Yum Jungle and Big Apple Hot Dogs.

There's also a Protein "Locals Only” bar serving up London Fields Brewery lager, Dalston Cola and Hewett Street Slushies. Our Protein by DunneFrankowski coffee shop will be open as usual, but with a few alcoholic additions to the usual menu. Remember to find a cash machine first as it's cash-only today. Find out more on Protein's website.

Then, on Sunday, Burnt Enz will be teaming up with Maltby Street favourite Cornish Grill to offer up the freshest British seafood (with a few cocktails thrown in for good measure). They'll be grilling up over 1500 hand-dived scallops from 2pm-11pm at the Climpson & Sons Roastery, Arch 374, Helmsley Place, E8 3SB. For tickets (£24.50 gets you fabulously fresh seafood cooked by six different chefs and a cocktail on arrival) go to www.brownpapertickets.com
