Changes afoot at Ikoyi which moves to a West African seafood menu

Change has come to recently opened Ikoyi, the West African restaurant that opened in St James's Market last year. It's had some rave reviews - and we loved it too - but they've just made the decision to move to a mainly seafood menu, while keeping those West African flavours.

What does that mean for the food? Here's what you can expect:

  • Octopus, Ndolé & Calçot
  • Scallop, Ehuru, Burned Cream & Caviar
  • Cuttlefish Miyan Taushe, Calf's Tongue & Sinasir
  • Monkfish, Banga & Citrus Asaro
  • Turbot Roasted on the Bone, Mbongo & Okra - to share

That amazing jollof rice is getting a change too. Instead of the bone marrow option (which we loved), you'll be getting Smoked Crab Jollof Rice which comes with a crab custard that you can mix in with the rice. To be honest, that does sound amazing, so we're less concerned about the loss of the marrow.

There are a few meat dishes on the menu still, mind. They include the Iberico Pork Suya dish, served with Hibiscus & Condiments and the Buttermilk Plantain & Smoked Scotch Bonnet stays on the menu too.

Where: St James's Market, St. James's, London SW1Y 4AH

When: The new menu is available now.
