My Manor, Joo and Sujin Won from Calong share their favourite food and drink places in Bermondsey

Calong chefs Joo and Sujin Woo are both from South Korean. Joo's best known for being the head chef of Galvin at Windows, maintaining their Michelin star for seven years. Sujin spent years with Corbin & King, as head pastry chef both at Fischer's and The Beaumont. Calong is their joint project, which began as a pop-up before they found the perfect site on Stoke Newington's Church Street. Here they serve up Korean-European dishes in their cosy neighbourhood restaurant. Their business may be in North London, but the pair are South Londoners and they've agreed to share their favourite places close to their home in Bermondsey.

40 Maltby St, London SE1 3PG

This is probably our most favourite wine bar in London. We used to live about three minutes away from 40 Maltby Street, and we have visited many times and bought many bottles of wine from there. We love everything, the food, the wines, the vibe and all.

109 Bermondsey St, London SE1 3XB

No fuss, just good cooking with a regularly changing menu written on the board. It’s a very cosy and magical small French bistro with good atmosphere. During summer, we love sitting outside table, sipping on our wines, enjoying food, and just watching people pass by.

214 Bermondsey St, London SE1 3TQ

This is the place we visit when we’re in the mood for good Italian food. They are focused on fresh pasta and serve small plates. We love the polpette, that little beef & pork meatball makes us feel so good and happy. Joo can easily clear two pasta dishes by himself.

208 Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3TQ

Sentosa is one of those places we use to casually walk into for good Asian food around Bermondsey. It is relaxed, unfussy and full of comforting Malaysian and Singaporean dishes that we really enjoy. Sujin loves the laksa and I love the rendang, both deeply flavourful and satisfying. And the chilli crab as well. It’s messy, but absolutely worth it. I love mopping up the sauce with rice afterwards. Yum.

27–28 Old Jamaica Road, London SE16 4AW

There are a few Bone Daddies branches around London, but we did not expect to find this one hidden inside a business estate under the railway bridge. During dinner time and weekends, it has a really lively atmosphere and is great fun with friends over a couple of beers and snacks. We usually go there for a late lunch on Mondays or Tuesdays. It is the perfect kind of comfort meal. My classic order is tater tots and buffalo wings with cold beer, followed by a rich bowl of pork ramen.
