Having worked for everyone from Gordon Ramsay to Clare Smyth and Angela Hartnett, Pip Lacey is the former head chef of Murano and was also behind her own restaurant group, Hicce. She now heads up the restaurants Gilroy’s Loft and The Porter’s Table at the newly-opened Guinness Open Gate Brewery London. A resident of West Norwood, she's agreed to share her favourite places to eat and drink close to home.
The Garden
31 Knights Hill, Norwood, London SE27 0HS
Run by the lovely Riccardo. One of the best Neapolitan pizza places in London. Family-run. Brilliantly consistent. Tasty flavours with great dough and the perfect size too. We go most weeks, the price is good, and they never let us down.
The Great North Wood
3 Knights Hill, Norwood, London SE27 0HS
You'll find a great pint of Guinness in our local pub. Fun vibes with a welcoming, warm atmosphere. A busy place, which is so good to see, especially with the current costs and battles pubs are dealing with.
The Black Pig - Test Kitchen
32-34 Ernest Avenue, West Norwood, London SE27 0DJ
One of the best pork sandwiches you will ever have. Next level! Friday lunch only, but it's worth waiting all week for!
Heritage Dulwich
101 Rosendale Rd, Norwood, London SE21 8EZ
The best local Indian - modern tasty food from a great chef. Good for both eating in and takeaways.
Blackbird bakery
388 Norwood Rd, Norwood, London SE27 9AA
Good sourdough. And they do a very nice quiche Lorraine. Everyone needs a local bakery in their life.
