Soho is getting a tiramisu cafe, Marrone, just down the road from The Dev

We know that Londoners have a sweet tooth. All you have to do is look at the popularity of La Maritxu and their Basque cheesecakes or the queues outside Arome for their honey butter toast. Well, now those of you who think that tiramisu is at the top of the dessert pyramid are getting their very own cafe.

Marrone in Soho comes from second-gen Italian Giancarlo Fanigliulo. He's figured out that enough of you are mad about Italian desserts to warrant opening a cafe devoted to tiramisu. For the launch, there will be three versions; Original using Estate Dairy cream and dark roasted espresso "with notes of Stone Fruit, Caramel and milk Chocolate"; DOP pistachio made with Sicilian Bronte pistachios from Mount Etna and topped with pistachio drizzle and a DOP pistachio crumb; and a Valrhona dark chocolate and Maldon sea salt version They also do a boozy and non boozy if you're swerving alcohol.

The cafe is taking over the old Old Spike coffee spot on Sherwood Street, just up the road from The Devonshire. As Giancarlo explains: "I wanted to open somewhere that people felt welcomed like it was an Italian restaurant where you’d known the owners for years. When you walk into Marrone, I hope you’ll feel like family."
