If you're a Clapton local, you'll probably already be acquainted with Uchi's game. By day, they're a bakery serving up beef curry buns, sandos and black sesame lattes. In the evening, that changes up to a Japanese diner. Now they're bringing the bakery element of their offering over to Islington.
Their new place will be on Camden Passage, a street which already has some interesting Japanese offerings from the Katsute 100 tea house and the exemplary Sushi Show to the newest Kanazawa curry bread kiosk.
At the new cafe, they have an extensive list of coffees, latte's, teas and more on offer drinks-wise. As for food, you'll find their lovely sandos (The egg salad is a must), matcha mochi cookies and the must-try hojicha cheesecake. And if this street ends up being a tiny culinary corner of Japan, then we're all for it.
