Nostra is a new cafe and bar that's taken on the Hatch site in Homerton

The space that was once cafe and events space Hatch has, in the past few weeks, quietly been revived. It's returned as Nostra and is once again working as a cafe and events space - albeit with a few differences. 

First off is the cafe part. For this, they're bringing in rotating residencies and first up is Monella, which previously operated as a supperclub. Open every day from 10am-4pm, they'll be serving up a series of bakes that include a lemon and rosemary olive oil cake, banana bread, madeleines, Anzac biscuits and more. Those are being backed up by focaccia sandwiches, toasties and rosemary and cheddar scones as well as Caravan coffee. 

In the evening, the main Nostra menu comes into play, which has a selection of cold plates, snacks and cocktails on offer, with a Turkish slant to the menu. So you'll find dishes like Pimpirim Panzanella (tomatoes, lamb's lettuce, toasted sourdough, cucumber, market fruit, basil vinaigrette) and Girit Kabağı (Sauteed courgettes, garlic yoghurt, toasted walnuts, Aleppo butter) alongside an aperitivo board that combines warm pettole dough balls with cheese and charcuterie. As for desserts, they include a Kemalpaşa Tiramisu (featuring Turkish semolina cakes).

So, if you've been missing Hatch or are looking for something new in the Homerton area, this might be worth checking out.
