This month has seen the return of two big restaurants, returning after being shut by a fire. First there was Som Saa, and now it's the turn of Kensington classic Maggie Jones, which is back having being closed for two years.
Originally opening back in 1964, albeit known as Nan's Kitchen then, it was renamed in the 70s as Maggie Jones and has been a Kensington mainstay since then (until the fire, of course). It's also gained a reputation as being favoured by various members of the royal family.
Now that it's back, the menu is the same as ever, featuring what they say is a largely British-influenced menu (although there are definitely some classic French touches in there too, and it is the sister site of La Poue au Pot). Dishes like sausage and mash, fish pie, shepherd's pie and bread & butter pudding all feature.
So, if it was one of your favourite haunts in the past, now you can finally head back there.
