He's only just opened Town, but Stevie Parle is already gearing up to open his second new restaurant of 2025. This one is called Motorino, which is clearly a reference to his previous Dalston restaurant Rotorino (which closed back in 2018). That was a joint effort with restaurateur Jonathan Downey and as he's also involved with Town, it seems likely that Downey has joined up with the chef for this opening too.
For this one, he's teaming up with chef Luke Ahearne, who was behind the launch of Lita (and certainly responsible for that restaurant quickly being awarded a Michelin star). The decor will have the same retro-futuristic vibe as Town, but with a lot more dark wood.
As far as the food is concerned, expect dishes like:
- Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio, corno peppers, coriander, sudachi
- Pappardelle, Wildfarmed beef ragù, pecorino
- Flank 35-day Hereford (200g), Chianti or peppercorn sauce
- Spinach Crostata, ricotta, scamorza, charred brassicas, Parmesan
- Irish Whiskey Tiramisu
The restaurant will seat 140, so it's a massive space (it used to be Percy & Founders), and once again Kevin Armstrong (Satan’s Whiskers) is going to be behind the cocktails. Parle has had success in the pasta game with Pastaio, so it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with in this partnership with Ahearne.
