One of the recent additions to the competitive socialising market in London is Fairgame, which opened its first grown-up funfair in Canary Wharf a few years back. That tirned out to be a big success and now they're opening a second venture, this time in the heart of the City of London, right by St Paul's.
The second Fairgame is going to be inside One New Change (that's the huge modern development opposite the cathedral). And it's a big old space, taking up almost 25,000 square feet. Games will include the UK's largest indoor hook-a-duck game, a cornhole sack tossing game given a City twist called Money Bags and OAPrix, a (we kid you not) mobility scooter-themed rollerball experience.
Of course, a venue like this stands and falls on the strength of its food and drink offering. The City venue will, like Canary Wharf, feature burgers from Burger & Beyond, but they'll also have new vendors including Le Bab and Alby's Pizza. More importantly, there will be Prosecco-infused candy floss. And if you're planning an office outing, there's going to be a separate private space called The Funhouse, which has room for up to 130 people. We can see this being extremely popular for office Christmas parties this year.
It's all aptly summed up by Fairgame's Co-Founder and CEO, Richard Hilton: "We think it’s the most fun you can have next to a cathedral."
