La Mia Mamma brings its mammas to Battersea

La Mia Mamma brings its mammas to Battersea

They already have restaurants in Chelsea and Notting Hill (not to mention seafood spin-off Fish & Bubbles) and now La Mia Mamma has just opened its latest restaurant in Battersea.

If you're not familiar, the idea behind the restaurants is that there are "real Italian mothers" in the kitchens, looking after the punters. The "mammas" have never worked in professional kitchens before, but they are backed up by lots of chefs who have. So it's all about trying to get a homely Italian experience and authentic food. It's clearly been a big hit and they even famously managed to get Stanley Tucci in to check out their first restaurant.

This latest place takes over what was Made in Italy pizza restaurant in Battersea, and you can expect food similar to the other Mia Mammas. So that's lots of snacks, pizza and pasta as well as mains like 18-hour cooked beef ribs or slow-roasted porchetta. They also have plenty of set menu offers that let you mix and match across the entire menu.

It should do very well in Battersea, but good luck on spotting Stanley Tucci in there again...
