Once known for its particularly strong Sunday lunches, chef and owner Adam Hardiman was forced to close Madame Pigg in Dalston after the particularly tough pandemic years. But now he's back, resurrecting Madame Pigg in Islington.
It's part of the pub that used to be The Library (and still has that signage at the time of writing) but is being reborn as Islington Arts Club. Madame Pigg will be resident in the pub for the first seven weeks and we're being told to expect things like porchetta buns, deep-fried prawns baps and "proper chips".
On Sunday Madame Pigg's top-tier roasts will be making a comeback. The choices will be roast beef, porchetta, a whole chicken with bread sauce and a butternut and squash wellington. All that and there'll be confit prawns with garlic butter, cauliflower and truffle cheese, pigs in blankets and lots more.
So if you missed out on one of London's best Sunday lunches last time around - this is your chance to rectify that.
