7/7/23 - updated with the opening date
Rishim Sachdeva has been popping up with his Tendril restaurant in a couple of spaces, but now he's getting ready to launch the restaurant in its permanent home.
He describes the restaurant as "mostly vegan" and that's coming through in the new name - Tendril (mostly) Vegan Kitchen & Bar. The permanent restaurant will be in the space he's been popping up for the past few months on Princes Street. After successful crowdfunding, he'll close for a month for a full refurb before reopening under the new name. The new space will include room for counter dining as well as a private dining room which will fit in up to 30 people.
When the restaurant reopens, new dishes for the menu include:
- Crispy leek, with smoked potato salad & curry leaf aioli
- Summer squash, white polenta, basil puree & crispy samphire
- Smoked peas, pickled wild garlic, mint tabbouleh & rye crumbs
- Sesame chocolate ganache, sesame butter & pistachio crumb
Some of their classics will stay on the menu too, like the ‘ChinaTown’ purple soy potatoes. As for drinks, those will be led by the "mostly vegan" wine list as well as cocktails made with the ingredients used in the kitchen.
Of the new opening, Rishim Sachdeva said "Creating our re-launch menu has also been a true labor of love, and we've poured all our culinary expertise and passion into crafting dishes that perfectly embody the Tendril ethos of laidback and imaginative (mostly) vegan dining - with some tasty new dishes we can't wait to share and a handful of Tendril signatures that firmly remain."
So if you've yet to try Tendril or are looking for an excuse to go back - this is the time.
