It's that time again - when the House of Lords takes a holiday, the rest of us regular folk can take their place in The Peer's Dining room to see just what it's like to dine as a lord. This time, it's the Easter break, during which you can have lunch like a lord.
They're putting on a seasonal set menu and this time around we've got the actual menu. So there are dishes like a Carpaccio of Isle of Wight heirloom beef tomato and a Herefordshire Wye Valley asparagus panna cotta with Old Winchester cheese mousse and citrus gel. It's fish (confit fillet of Cornish cod) or meat (slow-cooked lamb shoulder with lamb fat potatoes and crispy lamb belly) and Yorkshire rhubarb and a white chocolate and honey delice for dessert (plus bread and petit fours). That all comes to £70, which isn't bad for the exclusive setting.
The dining room will be open over the Easter break and, as ever, spaces for this will be snapped up very quickly. Tickets go on sale at 11am on 20 March (today!), so put that time in the diary.
