Anyone searching for food shopping nirvana during lockdown should make an instant beeline for Aldgate. That's because a new branch of Tian Tian Market has opened there, and it's freaking massive.
The Asian supermarket's first branch opened in South Quay five years ago and it stocks a wide variety of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese food. But the new one in Aldgate, which opened this week, is properly next level.
There's a large seafood and meat section, more bubble tea than you can shake a straw at along with every conceivable kind of noodle. And - of course - it's well stocked with Little Moons mochi which (as they've gone entirely viral on TikTok) are extremely hard to find anywhere in London.
But this branch also has a premium sake bar - collection-only for now, but it looks to be ready to sit in and drink when we're allowed. And, if you're after the kind of patisserie you'd normally have to head into Chinatown for, they let you pre-order from the likes of Kova, Mille Patissierie and Wa Cafe - and then pick it up in-store.
