A large amount of the food industry gathered last night for the YBFs (also aka Young British Foodies but less so as there is actually no age limit), the food awards that celebrate innovation and creativity in UK food. ... - The 2016 Good Food Guide rounds up the longest serving entries
The Good Food Guide turns 65 this year and for this year's publication they've been looking back in time at some of the establishments that have spent a long time on that list. Top of the pile is The Connaught (pictured) which has been in the guide for 63 of those years. That beats Le Gavroche which has been in it for 46 years and RSJ on the South Bank (which we're ashamed to say we'd never heard of and has been in the guide for 35
... - Nico Ladenis and Daniel Boulud honoured at The Cateys
The UK's big hospitality industry awards, the Cateys, took place last night at Grosvenor House. 1200 folk from the restaurant, bar and hotel worlds donned their gladrags to fete the likes of Nico Ladenis and New York restaurateur Daniel Boulud (seen accepting his award here).
Key awards on the night were:
- Chef Award: Sat Bains, Restaurant Sat Bains
- Hotel of the Year: The London
- Barrafina Adelaide Street wins National Restaurant of the Year award
AA Gill is definitely in the minority of one (going by this week's review) as there's been almost universal praise for Barrafina's latest since it opened - and it's now been voted best in the country too.

The Tatler Restaurant Awards are always a popular event and tonight's do saw an almost exclusively London list of restaurants and chefs pick up awards.
- Winners announced for GQ Food and Drink Awards 2015
The inaugural GQ Food and Drink Awards took place last night at the Bulgari Hotel & Residences. It was almost a slam dunk for London establishments and folk who picked up at the glitzy ceremony, presided over by Claudia Winkleman - the exception being the gong for best pub which was taken home by The White Horse in Chichester.
