Less than a week after earning its Michelin star, it's unfortunate timing for Vineet Bhatia London as it's closing the Mayfair restaurant (that's the team above at their last service).

To Claridge's last night, where London's foodie folk gathered together for the launch of Claridge's: The Cookbook. Executive Chef Martyn Nail and the hotel's GM Paul Jackson welcomed guests for pre-dinner canapes washed down with Dom Perignon in the hotel's kitchens before repairing to a private room for a sit down dinner featuring some of the book's recipes.

Inspired by the street food of Mumbai, the new restaurant offers lunchtime tiffins, with a menu and is packed full of exciting, seasonal ingredients we've never heard of cooked, by someone who definitely knows what he's doing.

The pop-up will be operating out of five-star hotel The Beaumont, setting up in Corbin & King’s Colony Grill Room (one of Hot Dinners' personal fave spots in town).

The Connaught's restaurant has had a big makeover, and at the same time has brought in top NYC chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to run it. We head down to take an early look. 

So far, as part of our Cheeky Overnight series, we've already stayed at two of the Maybourne Group's three hotels in London - Claridges and The Berkeley. They say good things come in threes and we don't like to leave a work in progress, so we'd always wanted to finish off with a stay at The Connaught. And there seemed no better time to check it out than with the arrival of New York chef Jean Georges and his new restaurant at The Connaught.
