Instead of watching The Holiday on repeat in the run up to the festive season, we took a quick jaunt into the Cotswolds to live that life ourselves for a night or two and try a hot new restaurant and hotel into the bargain.

Just a few weeks ago, The Bull in Charlbury was in the news because of an American politician. Turns out that Kamala Harris (and her security team) had been spotted attending a pre-wedding dinner at the pub before the wedding of Eve Jobs. Fast forward a month and the pub is once more hitting the headlines because of an American politician, but this time it's for who they allegedly didn't serve.

Having had his plans to run a restaurant at his farm scuppered by local planning restrictions, presenter Jeremy Clarkson has responded by buying a pub instead.
