As regular readers may know, our guide to London's best set lunches is one of our most popular features. But there are a LOT of new deals being added all the time and we can't fit everything on that guide. So here is our new guide to the very latest set lunches that you can find in London restaurants right now:
Romano's
100 Strand, London WC2R 0EW
While a lot of the attention at Jeremy King's relaunched Simpson's on the Strand has been focused on The Grand Divan, the second restaurant there is a much more affordable one, and the prix fixe deal is fantastic. At the time of writing, that includes grilled cumberland sausages and a vanilla custard tart, and the room looks beautiful.
The offer: Two courses for £21, three courses £24.75, all day
Daka Daka
Mayfair - 10 Heddon Street, London W1B 4BX
This Georgian restaurant is packed out in the evenings, but there's also a great deal if you go at lunch or pre-theatre. There's a lot of choice on this menu, from a short rib stew to Iberico pork pluma dumplings. The fantastic red wine ice cream is on this menu as well, so make sure to order that.
The offer: Two courses for £29, three courses £35, Tuesday-Friday 12-6 pm
Idalia at Pilla Hall
Olympia - Olympia Way, London W14 0EY
Idalia is the main restaurant at Pillar Hall, the first of a series of major developments at Olympia. It's billed as a modern British restaurant with European and Asian twists, all set inside the Grade II building (and they've added a LOT of foliage). Dishes on the set menu include Korean-fried gochuchang chicken thigh and a Herdwick lamb rump with courgette flower and ricotta.
The offer: Two courses for £29, three courses £34
Fenix
Mayfair - Stratton House, 80 Piccadilly, London W1J 8HX
Fenix originally started in Manchester, and it's from the same group that also opened Tattu. It's a Mediterranean-style menu and the courses on the set menu are separated into ever-so-slightly pretentious "chapters" instead of courses. You can choose from short-rib moussaka, souvlaki, glazed half chicken and more.
The offer: Two courses for £34.50, three courses £39.50
Cooper's Cut
Tower Bridge - 10 Trinity Square, London EC3N 4AJ
Cooper's Cut is the new restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel at Tower Bridge (it took over from La Dame de Pic). A modern steakhouse, the menu here is one of the pricier ones on offer but there are a lot of options on the steak front, from minute steak frites to a wagyu burger or an Angus sirloin.
The offer: Two courses for £45, three courses £58
Brasserie Angelica
Fitzrovia - 49 Newman St, London W1T 3EB
Brasserie Angelica is the new restaurant at The Newman hotel in Fitzrovia. It's a modern European brasserie and the room itself does look very nicely designed. The Prix Fixe option is listed on the main menu, and at the time of writing, that includes rabbit rillettes with pickles and rye crackers and a butter-fried plaice fillet open sandwich. Make sure to visit the bar downstairs, as we've been hearing good things.
The offer: Two courses for £30, three courses £40, Mon-Fri 11.30 - 6.30pm
Taverna Ermou
Mayfair - 38-40 James St, London W1U 1EU
This restaurant comes from the Ergon group, who already run two delis in London. For this new all-day Greek restaurant opening, they've duplicated a restaurant that was already a hit for them in Athens. Dishes on the set menu here include crispy phyllo with a Spanakopita dip, beef and lamb kebabs and chicken souvlaki.
The offer: Two courses for £25, lunchtime only
Khao Bird
Mayfair - 38-40 James St, London W1U 1EU
This great Thai restaurant opened late last year, but they've recently introduced a set lunch that's exceptionally good value for Soho. Called the Workers' Lunch, it's a one-course offering (although it comes with salad on the side) and features dishes like Lanna pork shoulder with riceberry and crispy Shan tofu.
The offer: One course served with salad £15, Monday - Friday until 4pm
MOI
Soho - 84 Wardour St, London W1F 0TQ
This is a new addition to MOI (pronounced "Moy"), the Soho Japanese grill restaurant that focuses on live-fire cooking using Japanese and British produce. The menu includes sushi or sashimi alongside dishes like lamb belly with sesame & curry and red mullet, with yuzukosho and monk’s beard.
The offer: Three courses £38, lunch Monday - Friday
