Tom Booton reveals details of his first solo restaurant, Ralphie's, in Belgravia

In restaurant industry circles, buzz about Ex-Dorchester Grill chef Tom Booton's first solo venture has been steadily building over the last few months. However, we're only just now getting to hear details about what he has planned. Ralphie's (it's named in honour of his dog) will be taking over the old Enoteca Turi space on Pimlico Road.

Billed as a British bistro, we're told it's all about modern takes on British classics. If that sounds somewhat familiar, it's also in the same wheelhouse as Clare Smyth's British bistro Corenucopia, which is literally around the corner.

At Tom's gaff, signature dishes will include crispy cod cheeks scampi with warm tartare sauce, pork and mushroom pie with charcuterie sauce and a vanilla soft-serve sandwich with warm hazelnut and fudge sauce. And we're already excited about the Sunday roast offering with its leg of lamb stuffed ‘Shepherd’s Pie’ Yorkshire pudding.

Fittingly, for a restaurant named after a dog, the four-legged friends menu here sounds like it'll be the best in London, with pooch-friendly treats including pigs in blankets and a Chew Board served in bespoke dog bowls.

If you're thinking of booking a place for more of a private bash, the PDR here sounds a bit different to the norm. The Den will seat 14, feature a record player stocked with vinyl from Tom's own collection, and the group menu here will have special dishes like a Beef Wellington trolley.

Drinks are definitely not an afterthought with Channel 4's Sunday Brunch regular Pritesh Moody behind the cocktail list. He's coming in strong with a freezer-cold Beetroot Martini and Ralph’s Hedgerow Negroni on the launch list.

"Ralphie’s has been a long time coming," admits Tom. "I’m genuinely so excited to finally share what I’ve been working on behind the scenes for the past few years... I want Ralphie’s to feel like a proper neighbourhood restaurant."
