Shady crispy cheeseburger is Byron's latest special

shady

Back from your hols and feeling blue? Why not chase away the Autumn doldrums with the rather fine new special at Byron? The Shady was inspired by the classic cheeseburgers at the iconic Shady Glen diner, near New Haven, Connecticut. It features a 6oz patty, a double dose of cheese – some crunchy, some melting – and, for the toppings, sour pickle relish, finely-diced white onion, and ketchup. (£9.95).

“After we got back from New England, I knew I wanted to create our own version of a really classic cheeseburger," says Fred Smith, Byron’s head chef "What we took away from Shady Glen wasn’t just how good the famous crispy cheese was, but the very nostalgic, incredibly satisfying flavours. With Shady we’ve taken those old-school elements and created a modern version of a really timeless burger.

The Shady is available at Byron from 9th September - 10th November 2014 and will cost £9.95
