A week of seasonal food, with matching wines specially chosen by Mark Hix and Mitch Tonks? Tonnix Week will run from 10th-16th October in the suitably grand setting of Hix Mayfair in Browns Hotel, featuring a special five-course menu at just £35, or £70 if you go for all the matching wines.
What's on offer?
The highlight of the week comes on Tuesday 11th, when they're laying on a six-course dinner with wines at £59.50, including roast scallop with white port and garlic and braised sugar-pit beef cheek with braised celeriac. On the other nights, there's a special a la carte menu with plenty of meat and fish options: we're keen to try the red-legged partridge on toast with yellow chanterelles - not to mention the apple pie and custard.
And the Tonnix drinks?
Mark and Mitch have chosen a collection of wines, a port, an olive oil and a vinegar, produced by Quinta de la Rosa and the Berqvist family in Portugal. Going the extra mile - they've even got Tracey Emin to design bespoke labels.
