Juma Kitchen brings Iraqi cuisine to the King and Co in Clapham

Juma Kitchen comes to the King and Co in Clapham

Always a good place for some interesting residencies, The King and Co have their next lined up. Running for October are Iraqi cuisine specialists Juma Kitchen in their first residency.

The menu has a range of meze and small plates including falafel with tahini, spiced baba ganoush, humous with freshly baked tanoor bread and kubba hamuth dumplings in rich tomato sauce. Plus there's the signature dish - the Dolma special. That's a combination of onions, baby peppers and vine leaves all stuffed with marinated lamb mince and rice in JUMA’s signature spice blend, then slow-cooked in lemon, pomegranate and garlic and served with lamb cutlets.

And for dessert, there's knafa, a dessert of baked cream and soft cheese topped with shredded filo pastry, and drizzled with orange blossom water syrup.

And they'll be putting on a weekend brunch too - featuring courgette fritters with charred lebna as well as Iraqi tanoor bread stuffed with bacon, fried egg and homemade tamarind and date sauce.

Juma Kitchen is at the King & Co at 100 Clapham Park Road London SW4 7BZ from 3-30 October. For more, follow them on Twitter @jumakitchen.
