We were the first to tell you about the arrival of the Korean matcha house Tokkia in Covent Garden. And we were there on day one to check out their drinks and salt breads and stick with them on the ride to the position they have now with a perma-queue outside.
Founder Sooji Im really found a gap in London's often saturated drinks market with her elevated take on matcha and the popular seasonal blends she offered. Most recently the cafe did a sellout range in conjunction with the arrival of BTS in London.
Now Sooji is expanding on her tea house's popularity and opening a second branch. Her new place will be in the heart of Soho, on Berwick Street. We don't know too much more about it than that, other than this time it's going to be more bakery-led, with more of that lovely freshly baked salt bread alongside their Korean matcha. When we learn more we'll update this piece.
