If you're a Chelsea resident you may have spotted a lot of work going on in the former Hugo Boss store on the corner of Sloane Square, right opposite the tube station. But what's been kept on the QT till now is that this is the new restaurant Martino's, from the man who made The Dover the coolest restaurant in London in 2025.
It's an all-day Italian affair, kicking off with a breakfast menu that includes everything from bircher muesli and avocado bruschetta to cannellini beans on toast and cornettos.
We got a sneak preview at a lunch the other week, and it's clear that this is destined to be an immediate hit. The design is from the same duo, Studio Drago, who were instrumental in giving The Dover a very different look to any other restaurant in London. Think terrazzo floors, lacquered walls, booths with chandeliers - all very beautiful, in other words. The aim was to channel Italian trattorias of the fifties and sixties.
For lunch and dinner, there's beef carpaccio with pecorino cream, short rib ragù tagliatelle and meatballs zupetta on offer. Having already tried the house lasagna verde alla Bolognese, we can tell you it's very, very good. Expect this to be Chelsea's must-try restaurant in the coming weeks and months.
