Hawksmoor St Pancras sees the steakhouse taking over The Midland Grand space, and adding The Martini Bar.

Hawksmoor St Pancras sees the steakhouse taking over The Midland Grand space, and adding the Martini Bar.

12/11/25 - updated with the opening date and menu details

After the surprise closure of Victor Garvey at The Midland Grand, there were rumours about who was going to take over the very impressive dining room next, with Hawksmoor top of the list. Very soon after, the news was confirmed - Hawksmoor St Pancras will be the group's eighth restaurant in London, and it's coming with something we very much like the sound of: The Martini Bar.

The main restaurant will take over what was The Midland Grand, which was originally redesigned when chef Patrick Powell first launched that restaurant. We originally weren't expecting Hawksmoor to do much of an overhaul of the overall structure of the space, as it already looks incredible. But it turns out that rather a lot has been done, with a completely new paint job and the restaurant group's signature parquet flooring now in place.

Hawksmoor's Will Beckett says, "There are very few buildings that Huw and I have always spoken about as dream Hawksmoors,  and this is one". Co-founder Huw Gott continues, "I’ve always loved working with incredible architectural heritage, and there are no finer buildings around".

For the menu expect the usual great steaks, cocktails and much more. There are new additions too, like the Prime Rib Roast, in which thick slices of roast beef come with a slow-cooked rib bone, Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow gravy - and that's going to be served all week long. There's also a new Seafood Platter, with Scotch bonnet oysters, dressed Dorset crab, scallop crudo, crevettes and pickled cockles.

As for the bar, what was The Gothic Bar will become The Martini Bar and again, it's a great-looking room with high vaulted ceilings. The martinis include an "Ultimate" house serve, a Pink Gibson and Duke's-style Direct Martinis, all alongside Hawksmoor classic cocktails. Meanwhile, snacks we want to try range from a Scotch olive (an olive stuffed with molten Stichelton) and Dill-pickle Gilda to Beef-dripping hash browns with malt vinegar mayo or caviar.

When bookings opened, their website crashed, so this opening looks like it's going to be rather popular.
