Crate Brewery in Hackney is known for being just beside the water, and one of London's best waterside eating and drinking spots. Now they're trying to replicate that, but this time over in Canary Wharf.
The second Crate will be in Wood Wharf (where you'll also find Hawksmoor, Dishoom and Marceline), taking over the rather short-lived Fish Game space. As with the original in Hackney, it will be beside the water, perhaps not quite as right-on-the-water as the first Crate, but they will apparently have space for 80 out there. Pizza will once again be the deal food-wise, made from Wildfarmed dough. They'll also be aiming for the same sustainable approach as the original throughout (even the pizzas are served on biodegradable boards).
The menu is yet to be revealed, but expect it to be similar to Hackney. So, there will be pizzas like the Sage & Truffle (mozzarella, grated potato, crispy sage leaves, truffle oil) and the Middle Eastern Lamb (Tomato reduction base, mozzarella, fresh spinach, marinated lamb mince, Parmesan, pine nuts, fresh chopped mint and chill).
As for the drinks, the one thing we do know is that there will be beer (of course) along with some new soda cocktails, like Vodka Raspberry Yuzu and Gin Lemon Koji.
