Poon's is back, opening at Somerset House

Poon's is back, opening at Somerset House

Since the original Poon's closed, one of London's legendary Chinese restaurants, Amy Poon has been following in her family's footsteps with a series of pop-ups and selling a range of her products (with a store recently opening in Bermondsey). But now she's getting ready to open her own restaurant called, of course, Poon's.

Opening within the New Wing of Somerset House, this new iteration of Poons will bringing in dishes that are cooked in Chinese homes, yet may be unfamiliar to the wider public, although the menu is yet to be revealed. There will be some returning dishes from the original Poon's too, like the claypot rice, and the "magic soup".

The space itself will seat 60 across two rooms, the first with a communal feel and the second around an open kitchen. It also comes with a private dining room that fits in 24 more.

We'll have more news on what's coming to this new Poon's closer to the opening date.
