Air travel is almost always a stressful experience, so we're heartened to hear about the arrival of a new wine bar at Heathrow that'll make any delay there a lot more bearable.
The Vinery has just opened in Terminal 2 and, as the name suggests, it's all about the wine. The list here will celebrate English wine, although it will also feature wine from around the world, and there are special wine-tasting events planned by Gusbourne Wines’ master sommelier Laura Rhys. If your plane is delayed you can try one of the themed tasting flights and we also like the sound of their sommelier app, which Laura helped develop and which you can use to recommend wine pairings.
As for the food, that'll be a range of open sandwiches alongside Italian charcuterie, and English garden signature platters. If you're up for a bit of wine and cheese they've also selected a range of cheeses from suppliers local to the airport. And if you're starting your holiday in style you can order caviar with blinis and a bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal 2015 - a snip at £650.
Story first spotted on Propel.
