We're still waiting to hear if Jackson Boxer is going to be opening his Lumette restaurant that he previewed last year, but in the meantime, the chef behind Orasay and Brunswick House is popping up at Selfridges with a new residency.
He's taking over the corner restaurant, which has in the past seen residencies from Adesse and NYC chef Grant Clark, and we're told that under Boxer, the restaurant will be serving an "exclusive experimental, seasonal menu". Here's a taste of that:
- Chilled peeled XL langoustine tail on ice, with a mayonnaise made from the roasted heads and shell, and a salsa of shallots and green chilli.
- Fresh tagliolini, smoked butter, Madagascan pepper, either with Comte and chives or with the option of a whole 30g tin of N25 caviar
- Fried Veal Sandwich - Breaded veal cutlet, fried; smoked tuna & caper mayonnaise; shredded cabbage; toasted brioche.
- Cru Virunga dark chocolate mousse, caramelised white chocolate cream, malted chocolate tuille and a sharp goat's milk sorbet
The residency is a long term one with no end date just yet, so if you're in need of a break from shopping on Oxford Street, definitely keep this place in mind. It's a busy time for Boxer who's also just launched a restaurant in the country at the Experimental Group's Cowley Manor.
