A Hot Dinners exclusive
The Crossrail/Elizabeth line work in London has led to some big changes in London - and some of the biggest can be seen in Soho, close to Tottenham Court Road station. We've already seen the creation of Ilona Rose House and its hidden Soho courtyard (where the new Milk Beach lives). And close to that there's another big opening - @sohoplace, a completely brand new theatre for the area.
And with that theatre comes a big new restaurant called stars. Taking over the ground floor of the building it sees Head Chef Constantin Apostu (previously at The Standard Hotel) in charge and his menu features dishes like:
- Cauliflower & Stilton croquettes, piquillo ketchup
- English burrata & figs, miso & smoked oil
- Crispy skin cod, braised quinoa trio, beurre blanc
- Pumpkin ravioli, spinach, Parmesan foam, aleppo pepper
- Corn-fed chicken breast, truffled chanterelles
- Basque cheesecake, Earl Grey infusion
The development is the brainchild of Nimax Theatres' Nica Burns, who's been involved in the design of the restaurant and bar too. The restaurant seats 70 and there's a bar for 25 more (which we'd expect gets a little busy at the interval!) and we're told it will have classic and contemporary cocktails and a wine list with 60 bottles on it.
So even if you're not going to the theatre, this could be a very handy pit-stop in the area.
