Shutters opens at One Canada Square with its Cali-Cornish seafood mix

shutters canary wharf

It takes a brave soul to put a seafood restaurant in the lobby of one of London's biggest office blocks (here's hoping their extraction is top-notch), but the folks behind Shutters which has just opened up at One Canada Square are hoping their mix of Cornish fish and Californian vibes will be a winning formula.

The team behind it are Cornish company The Happiness Cartel who also run a Shutters restaurant down in Marazion in Cornwall. That's also seafood based but has quite a different menu to what's planned for London.

Here the menu's much more SoCal meets the South West, so dishes include:

  • Cornish crab nachos
  • Sushiritto - spicy tofu sushi wraps
  • Tempura lobster with blue corn tacos and salsa roja

They're clearly hoping for a breakfast crowd too so Canary Wharf workers can head here for morning meetings with kedgeree, dutch pancakes and miso croque madames on offer.

For drinks, the space houses three large copper beer tanks, filled with Meantime, and there's a largely European wine list.
