Sam's Riverside is reopening, with a seafood terrace overlooking the river

sam's riverside reopens with a seafood terrace

As London's restaurants prepare to spill outside, going alfresco in a big way this summer, new Hammersmith restaurant Sam's Riverside is taking full advantage of its waterside location.

Only open four months before the lockdown - here's a reminder of our Test Drive at the time -  the restaurant will reopen on 4 July with a new seafood terrace, overlooking the Thames.

This large 32-seat alfresco space will have its own menu (which you can also order inside the restaurant too). As you might expect, it'll be heavy on the seafood and other light dishes.

  • Shuckers platter (Maldon Rock and Carlingford oysters, crevettes, 1⁄2 lobster)
  • Isle of Wight tomatoes, Graceburn soft cow’s cheese, lovage
  • Grilled native lobster, mayo and chips
  • Shrimp cocktail salad
  • Warm sirloin steak salad, horseradish dressing, beef dripping croutons
  • Lobster roll and chips

The drinks list will be suitably summery too with frozen Casamigos margaritas, Gusbourne sparkling wine, and Rock Angel Rosé just waiting to be poured out.

The restaurant will also be offering delivery and takeaway in the very near future, after reopening.

And, if you want to help support the restaurant and raise funds for the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, there's a rather glitzy online quiz night happening on Monday 29 June with David Tennant hosting and - among others - Suranne Jones doing general knowledge and Tom Parker Bowles running the food & drink round. Tickets are £25 per household taking part.
