With Allegra at The Stratford getting such good reviews, the owners of new Stratford spot The Gantry London will be hoping for similar success.
Their new hotel is part of the Curio Collection (a Hilton offshoot that also includes The Trafalgar and Lincoln Plaza). The 18 storey building was built by Ardmore who also did The Ned and Corinthia
After a quiet year or so, it does seem like life is heading back to Stratford with a few new openings. Hard on the heels of the arrival of Haugen, comes Big Easy who are opening their fourth London restaurant over at Westfield.
As to what you can expect, well it's a formula they're not
It's been a while since we've had a big opening in Stratford (Patrick Powell's Allegra being the most successful) but D&D (the people behind The German Gymnasium, Bluebird, Coq D'Argent, Launceston Place and lots, lots more) are opening one of the biggest restaurants there
