Updated 09/5/21 with London location news
It's been a long time, but, US burger chain Wendy's is back on these shores - and opening in London too. While they're on the cusp of opening in Reading (on 2 June 2021), next up will be a restaurant at Stratford, the first of their re-entry to London. It's been almost 20 years since they were last here (their flagship store was where the McDonald's is on Oxford Street now).
If you're unfamiliar with Wendy's, they're best known for their burger patties being square as opposed to round, and they're essentially a large fast-food chain - more McDonald's than Patty & Bun.
Sadly we won't be getting their Pretzel Bacon Pub Triple burger, but there will be some UK specials, like the Veggie Stack along with burgers like their Baconator and Dave’s Single and their classic Baked Potatoes with toppings like sour cream and chive or bacon and chili and cheese.
Alongside Stratford, the Croydon location we hear that they're currently looking for planning permission for, will be in a former Barclays branch just a few hundred metres from East Croydon station.
