    gherkindinner

The list of London restaurants with views is set to expand briefly over the summer as the 40th floor of the Gherkin opens up for a Moroccan-themed popup. The space, which has 360 degree views over London, is usually only open to members, so it's an opportunity to get a new perspective on the City if you haven't had a chance to wangle an invite before now.

At the level 39 restaurant there'll be a five course tasting experience, the ‘Art of Spice’ (from

24/7/15 - updated with the menu

Well this sounds like it'll be a popular spot for the summer. Having only relatively recently opened their first floor restaurant, the team at The Culpeper gastropub in Spitalfields are on the verge of opening the rooftop greenhouse bar and grill. The fourth floor space already features growing beds packed with homegrown vegetables, salad leaves and herbs for the kitchen. Now they're opening The Greenhouse on

    duckwaffleflowers

If you feel you're not getting a sufficient sense that the British summer is underway - we may have a suggestion to remedy that. Duck & Waffle and Petersham Nurseries are joining forces for what sounds like a rather magical day. The Richmond-based cafe and nurseries will be transforming the City skyscraper restaurant into a garden in the sky. And it sounds like this one will be rather more successful than the one at Sky Garden down the

Street Kitchen settles down on Broadgate Circle, selling sandwiches by the inch

After years of running things from their airstream, Street Kitchen (founded by Mark Jankel and chef Jun Tanaka) is settling down. But they're not moving far from where that airsteam has been parked, taking one of the spaces at Broadgate Circle for their gourmet sandwich restaurant - selling huge subs cut down and served by the inch. We caught up with Mark Jankel to find out

  • Broadgate Circle is about to completely revitalise City dining

Broadgate Circle is about to completely revitalise City dining

We've been hearing for a while about various restaurants opening up in the new Broadgate Circle which properly opens tomorrow, 15 April. And with this opening upon us, we're really becoming aware of what a big deal it is to City dining. In the next couple of months, 10 new restaurants are going to open there and some of them are a very big deal indeed. It's similar to the changing dining scene at King's Cross, but

  • Yauatcha City brings dim sum and a patisserie to Broadgate Circle

    Yauatcha Venison Puffs

While Alan Yau is just opening a new place next to the original Yauatcha, the Hakkasan group are moving further afield with their next venue, opening on Broadgate Circle (which itself have loads of openings in the next few weeks). So if you're in the City and have a craving for a venison puff (of which we are still massive fans of at Hot Dinners), you won't have far to go.

As with the original, Yauatcha City will have all-day
