A two week residency, kicking off in Spitalfields tomorrow, sounds worthy of your attention. Kitchen FM is two chefs French-born chefs Fabien Spagnolo and Max Truel. The pair both used to work at Frenchie Covent Garden and Pollen Street Social and most recently were The Corner Room and Stem. They'll be taking over the kitchens at Crispin in Spitalfields for a fortnight, serving up a series of small plates.

When the Spitalfields pub The Gun served its last pint in 2015, most folk thought that was the end of an institution that had been around these parts in one guise or another since the sixteenth century. But it's now resurfaced once again - opening up in the new ground floor of the London Fruit and Wool Exchange development.

It's not the first time the pub's moved or even been rebuilt. It began life as a tavern serving the soldiers of the Artillery Ground

A new Spitalfields popup sees a former City worker do just what so many of probably fancy doing - opening a restaurant based on the food in our favourite holiday destination.

Monsieur Le Duck is the result of London Richard Humphreys' many trips to Gascony. Loving the place (and its food and wine) so much, Richard decided to jack in his job and open a restaurant around the corner from his old office.

Usain Bolt may have retired from professional athletics, but that means he's spending more time on his businesses. And one of them is his own restaurant Tracks and Records. He's launching the first one outside of Jamaica in London - expect lots of Jamaican food on the menu (and a lot of rum too).

They've been doing a storming trade out of their street hatch in Soho, but now Pleasant Lady Jian Bing Trading Stall are bringing their Chinese snackage to Spitalfields. They'll be opening a stall in The Kitchens at Old Spitalfields Market.

If you haven't made it down yet to the original Soho hatch in the wall, what you've been missing out on are crispy skin crepes, stuffed with savoury fillings - including aromatic Iberico Char

City breakfasts just got a whole load more fun with the arrival of Le Swine in Spitalfields - the first permanent spot for the popular bacon buttie street food traders.

If you already know about Mandira from their yoghurt bar in Covent Garden, you'll be pleased to know they're making the trip to Spitalfields Market - and this time their bagels will be the order of the day with Simit by Mandira.

It's all go at Old Spitalfields Market where Nuno Mendes has moved his Portuguese restaurant Taberna do Mercado out of its bricks and mortar spot and into the market proper. He'll then be opening a wine bar and bottle shop in the old premises.
