  A very promising new cocktail bar is opening right underneath Neil Rankin's Simplicity Burger on Brick Lane. It's led by Carl Brown, best known as former Daru-walla at Dishoom aka “the drinks guy”, their main bar development manager and former YBF winner.

• Cocotte rotisserie is opening in Parson's Green

  After launching in Notting Hill and Hoxton, the next outpost for French rotisserie restaurant Cocotte is Parson's Green. Expect the slow-cooked rotisserie chicken to be the centre of the menu - plus a lot of salads too. 

• Megan's dog-friendly restaurant is coming to Islington

  After success in south and west London, Megan's are opening in the Islington Square development, just off Upper Street. They'll have their usual Mediterranean menu and, of course, will welcome dog owners with open arms. 

• Smokey Kudu and Curious Kudu see Peckham's Kudu restaurant empire expanding

  The team behind popular Peckham venue Kudu are opening a new tapas restaurant and cocktail bar, both on the same road as the original. 

• Townsend will be the new restaurant and cafe at The Whitechapel Gallery

  Taking over the restaurant space at The Whitechapel Gallery is an ex-Garden Cafe and Petersham Nurseries duo with an exciting modern British menu planned.

• Hoppers is bringing their Sri Lankan food to Kings Cross

  Hoppers, the Sri Lankan and South Indian street food-influenced restaurant, is opening a third restaurant in London, following the success of its Soho and St Christopher’s Place outlets. Its Pancras Square venue in Kings Cross will be home to a menu exclusive to that site and the biggest bar of its venues.

  Firebrand pizza has won a lot of fans in its original Marylebone site - and now they're opening a second pizzeria in Clerkenwell. But that's not all, as they're also opening Diggs, an all-day cafe next door.

  Carving out space on the hotel's ground floor, The Connaught is bringing back its legendary restaurant The Connaught Grill with Jean-Georges Vongerichten providing a modern take on grill room classics.

• Camden Market's Asian Alley expands with new trader Pino's Warung

  

  Over at Camden Market, their Asian Alley has had a bit of revamp over the Christmas hols, doubling in size and expanding on the range of food on offer.

  Taking over two arches now, the alley now feature food from Malaysia, Thailand, China, Korean and Japan.

• Soho House's new spot 180 House will have a rooftop pool on the Strand

  

  Not content with already having three of London's loveliest rooftop pools, at Shoreditch House, White City House and The Ned, the folks at Soho House are about to unveil their latest one in the centre of London.
