We're a bit slow to this, as Oybar has been open in Balham for almost a month, but the duo behind this new oyster bar are already working on their second place. Owners Evgeniy and Catriona are gearing up for a Wimbledon opening later this year.

They're already big with their cafe in Balham and now Milk have opened a brand new bakery just down the road towards Tooting Bec called Milk Run. 

If you fancy a Milk pastry to-go, this will be the place for you with croissants, pain au chocolat and more sweet or savoury pastries on offer, as well as sourdough loaves. They also have a small pantry offering drinks, cupboard staples and bags of coffee

If you're into your gelato you'll probably have encountered Badiani, a Florentine gelato chain that's been slowly expanding across London, serving up flavours like cobnut, green tea, pear sorbet and more.

The next part of London they've scoped out for an opening is Balham, where they're going to be setting up shop next door to the popular cafe Milk. But Badiani are planning something very different for their spot in Balham.

Tooting Broadway Market’s loss is Balham’s gain, with the news that Henny’s Wine Bar has upped sticks and set up shop in leafy Balham. If you’re a fan of ethical and sustainably sourced biodynamic wines, you’ll no doubt already have Henny’s on your radar, but their new hangout space intends to be so much more than the place to quaff a Muscat from Conca de Barberà or discuss the merits of funky orange drop from Puglia.

Zia Lucia are continuing their march south with a new pizzeria, this time in Balham.

Having been shut for five months, the popular live music pub The Bedford in Balham is about to open the doors to show off its multi-million pound new look. The Grade II listed building has had a shed load of money lavished on it and will now have five bars, four private rooms, a ballroom and a live music club as well as 15 bedrooms upstairs.
