The Stoke Newington Tea House is a very different type of pub now open on Church Street

Just in time to do brisk trade as the temperatures dip, The Stoke Newington Tea House has just opened on Stoke Newington Church Street, taking over the Daniel Dafoe. And anyone who knew the old pub will be pretty surprised when they return - particularly as there's no longer a a bar. That's been replaced with more of a beer wall. What will be on offer is six hand pulls with regularly rotating craft ales, as well as lagers, bitters and stouts.

There will, as the name suggests, also be plenty of tea too. Over 100 different styles in fact with six special mixtures on every day to entice you away from your usual brew. The tea theme continues with both cocktails (and desserts) featuring tea too. And, to come, will be the London School of Tea which is opening upstairs from the pub soon with tea specialist Lucy Chappel in charge.

As for food we're told to expect an all day brunch mmenu with freshly baked bread from a local Stoke Newington bakery, small plate British Tapas and a cracking Sunday roast.

The Stoke Newington Tea House is now open at 102 Stoke Newington Church St, London N16 0LA. Opening times are Monday - Thursday: 9am – 11pm, Friday - Saturday: 9am – Midnight and Sunday: 9am – 11pm. Keep up with their news on Twitter @teahouse_stokey
