We're two weeks out from the announcement of the World's 50 Best Restaurants list for 2026. But while we wait to see who made it big, they've just announced who's secured a place on the 51-100 section of the list. That's interesting mainly because it gives us an idea of which London restaurants, if any, might have made it on to the main list this year.
As with last year, there are just two London names on the runners-up part of the list. This year they're KOL at 70 and The Ledbury at 83. That's going to be disappointing news for KOL, which placed 70 (it was 49 last year). But it's a result for The Ledbury team who haven't been on the list since pre-Covid.
We'd suggest it means that Ikoyi, which last year was No 15 is still in the top 50. But it could also be good news for Mountain, which last year moved up the list from 94 to 74. Could they have continued that trajectory and moved into the main list for 2026? We'll have to wait until 4 November to see, when this year's main list is revealed in a ceremony in Lima.
