6/7/26 - updated with menu details
The man behind the very successful Lita in Marylebone, Daniel Koukarskikh, has quietly unveiled his next London opening, but this one is a little different. Mardy's is a sandwich shop that's opened in Mayfair.
Un until now, that's more or less all we've known. According to job advertisements, they refer to themselves as "a proudly British brand, straightforward, unpretentious, and grumpy about quality." That's backed up with a cartoon campaign featuring their grumpy lead character.
However, now that it's actually opened, we have an idea of what they're serving, with sandwiches including:
- Beef Brisket - Short rib and brisket, brined in gochujang, slow-cooked at 85°C for ten hours. Finished with gochujang paste and sweet chilli. Served on grilled focaccia, with chilli kimchi mayo, mozzarella and house pickles.
- Tuna Melt - Tuna with lilliput capers, Belazu preserved lemon paste, mayo and sriracha. On Grilled Sourdough, with cheddar, thick-cut seasoned beef tomato.
- Coronation chicken - Brined chicken thigh and breast slow-cooked sous vide, folded with mayo, mild curry powder, lime juice and dried mango. Served hot on grilled focaccia with melted mozzarella and fresh coriander.
They also have a Chicken Caesar wrap, and we know how popular those are these days, and in the morning have a breakfast burrito and bacon baps.
It's opened in one of the spaces near the Bond Street Elizabeth Line entrance, just off Hanover Square, so if you use that station to commute, this could be very handy in the coming weeks.
