Pizzas might be having their time in the sun right now, but London has plenty of room for more smash burgers, it seems. Junk Burger are already gearing up for their third launch in London, this time inside Spitalfields Market.
The smash burger restaurant originated in Paris (not to be confused with that other Parisian smash burger joint, Dumbo) before opening in Soho first and then Marylebone, just off Oxford Street. This third restaurant hasn't been officially announced at the time of writing, but a big hoarding outside the restaurant in Spitalfields rather gives the game away. We're not entirely sure what it replaced, but it's just beside the food stalls inside the market itself.
As for what to expect, it should be the same as the other two Junk restaurants. So it's all about cheeseburgers with smashed beef patties (you can choose between one and four patties per bun) or their special truffle burger, with their panko fried chicken bites as an extra. They'll also have their huge Puffy cookies as dessert.
It'll probably do very well, but they will have to compete with one of London's very best burgers, Bleecker, who have a stall here too...
