FKABAM (aka Black Axe Mangal) is closing but it's not completely the end for the Islington restaurant

After 10 years, Lee and Kate Tiernan have announced that it's the end of the road for FKABAM (Formerly Known As Black Axe Mangal). Sort of.

Essentially, the last service of FKABAM in Islington will be just before Christmas. It sounds like it's not completely the end, though, as Lee says they "will continue cooking in our unique style, turning up the volume at events and future collaborations."

But just because they're finishing with FKABAM in Islington, it doesn't mean they're finished with Islington. As Lee says, "So how do you celebrate 10 years of running a restaurant? Well, in our case, it's changing things up while it still feels good... It’s important to remember this is a pause, not a stop. For now, I want to focus my creative energy towards a "pop-up" within my own restaurant space."

So it sounds like they're shaking things up in Islington and we'll find out just what's being planned in the New Year. In the meantime, if you want to have a last try of FKABAM in its current guise, you'd better get booking.
