That smash burger trend hasn't come even close to finishing, with another launch, this time inside a City pub. Having started last week, newcomer Off The Street are serving up their burgers inside the Britannia on Monument Street.
They seem to be going for the minimalist, Supernova-like approach, so you won't find anything too fancy here. So there's the classic cheeseburger or the house cheeseburger (essentially swapping mustard and ketchup for house sauce), both with two patties. That's alongside fries and a tiramisu for dessert.
And, taking some inspiration from Junk, you can add up to three more patties if you're particularly hungry after a day in the office. You can also add your own extras, including crispy onions, jalapenos, salami and gorgonzola, while the veggie option is a portobello mushroom smash.
if that is too minimalist for you, there is another menu at the pub that concentrates on Italian fritti, loaded first and more - but we think it's the new smashburger menu that's worth your attention here.
There aren't many smash burger options in the City, so if you have a post-work craving, this is something to be aware of.
