Late last year the much-loved Launceston Place restaurant closed its doors with the restaurant group (then named D&D London) pledging to find the right chef to bring on board.
Well it turns out that the group - now named The Evolv Collection - has had something of a change of heart. Instead, they're bringing their Savile Row Italian restaurant Sartoria to Kensington.
And it seems that the Kensington opening marks the start of a rollout of the Sartoria brand in general. First up, they're turning their Italian restaurant in Battersea, Fiume, into a Sartoria too and they're also gearing up to open a Sartoria in Liverpool Street as well.
Back to Kensington, which is a much smaller site than the OG Sartoria. We can reveal that they're planning a "neighbourhood-focused Milanese restaurant" which should prove enticing to W8 locals. If the menu in Kensington follows the original it'll be a classic Italian that goes big during the truffle season.
