Snails and Paris Brest on the menu at new Parson's Green bistro La Bouffe

la bouffe opens in parsons green

While we all might like to be able to gallivant across the Channel to France for food at the drop of a beret, it's just not practical. So there's nothing better for lovers of Gallic cuisine than a promising new French restaurant opening in their part of town. That means the folks in Fulham must be feeling pretty smug right now at the arrival of La Bouffe on their doorsteps.

The duo behind this new bistro, husband and wife team Lawrence and Emily Hartley, also own the much-loved Le Petit Citron in nearby Brook Green. But while that first restaurant was a love letter to the food traditions of Provence, this new opening is more of a billet doux to the bistros of Paris. It's "inspired by our family's French heritage and the wonderful evenings we’ve enjoyed in some of Paris’ best French Bistros".

The restaurant's head chef, Harry, comes here via City Social and Le Petit Citron. On his menu, you can expect to find bistro classics like Snails Montorgueil, onglet steak with Café de Paris butter, confit de canard and Paris Brest. There's also a promising-sounding Prix Fixe option (for £33).

With red checked tablecloths, bistro chairs and Pernod posters on the wall, this sounds like it'll be a little slice of Paris in South West London.
