A striking new building, looking like it's clad in shiny, reflective aluminium, is getting ready to open in Canary Wharf. And coming as part of that are a new Amazing Grace and a House of the Gods hotel with a rooftop bar and restaurant.
Taking Amazing Grace first, they're following up on their London Bridge live music venue (where they're inside a revamped Grade II listed church). In Canary Wharf, expect something similar to London Bridge, but in a slightly more purpose-built environment. So food-wise, you can expect a pan-Asian-influenced menu taking in everything from bao buns and Korean fried chicken wings and short ribs, to the slightly more American-influenced wagyu burgers.
As with the original, it will have a big focus on live entertainment with live bands, DJs and karaoke sessions all a big part of the evening.
As for House of the Gods, that's a hotel that's previously opened in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Its London opening will feature 79 rooms and suites, with the emphasis on opulent design. But even if you're not staying there, the big draw sounds like the rooftop bar and restaurant. That's pretty huge, with a capacity of 300, and should give you some decent views of the city too.
Exactly what's on offer on the food side on the rooftop is under wraps at the moment, but as soon as we have more details, we'll add them.
