It was originally meant to last a year, but Tasca's time at Cav is coming to an early close.
The residency at the East London bar is from chef Josh Dallaway and sommelier Sinead Murdoch and inspired by their travels around France and Spain. Until now, the reception has been very positive, winning notable praise in The Standard (and from us). However, Dallaway and Murdoch, in a statement released on Instagram, said that while they're proud of what they've built so far "sometimes the set-up isn't the right fit. We've made the decision to protect the integrity of Tasca and to continue to grow the concept."
Essentially, it seems to be the food world version of "creative differences".
What it does mean is that Tasca are looking for a permanent site maybe faster then they imagined, so we'd say that's something to look forward to next year. In the meantime, they'll be at Cav for another three weeks, so if you've been thinking of visiting, now's the time.
